David Nuckolls

Board Member

David Nuckolls is the Executive Director for the Georgia Center of Innovation, where he oversees six statewide industry-facing teams focused on strategic industries for the state: Aerospace, Agricultural Technology, Energy Technology, Information Technology, Logistics, and Manufacturing.

Prior to his current role, David served as the Associate Director for the Center, where he supported its management and growth, statewide strategic initiatives, and community outreach efforts. David began his work with the Center of Innovation as the Marketing and Operations Global Account Manager, where he successfully led various award-winning marketing initiatives.

David honed his skills in economic development, public relations, communications, and marketing with organizations including the Rome Floyd Chamber, local nonprofit groups, and a digital agency before joining the Georgia Center of Innovation.

David was named to Georgia Trend Magazine’s inaugural Georgia 500 list in 2022 and named one of their 2023 Most Notable Georgians. He lends his expertise through service on several boards and advisory committees. He is on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance and an active member of the University IP Alliance. In addition, he is a member of Georgia Southern University’s Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing’s Corporate Advisory Council and the Georgia Tech K-12 InVenture Challenge Advisory Committee. As a third-generation graduate of Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia, he continues to serve his alma mater through the Alumni Council.

At Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia, David was a scholar in the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s leadership development cohort, the WinShape College Program. David is also a 2019 Fellow of the Zell Miller Leadership Institute and completed GeorgiaForward’s Young Gamechangers program. He is a 2014 graduate from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and he is in the process of becoming a Georgia Certified Economic Developer through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

David and his wife Anna are raising their two children in Newnan, Georgia, where they have two dogs and are active members of Crossroads Church.
